Prior to purchase, I arranged for a qualified mechanic to conduct a thorough inspection of the car, accompanying me during the viewing. This precaution proved invaluable, as we evaluated three or four other vehicles that presented subtle issues not immediately apparent to an untrained observer. Upon inspecting this vehicle, the mechanic confirmed its suitability. It was noted that the original owner, reportedly a travelling salesperson, had rarely utilised certain features such as the boot; impressively, the interior retained a near-new scent even after eleven years. The previous owner had used the vehicle only briefly before deciding to sell, citing the need for greater family space and having recently purchased the newer E57 model.
This car has served me well and is distinguished by its high specifications, robustness, and reliability—a friend once remarked that it “drives like a tank.” However, current legislation has made continued use impractical for me. The vehicle would be ideal for someone residing outside London who seeks a dependable option for urban or rural driving, including off-road scenarios.
