For Sale this 2012 BMW M Sport 116 Manual in Black Sapphire Metallic
I purchased this car in January of 2021 and it has
been the most trouble free and reliable car I have ever owned. I mean this
might have something to do with the fact that I have mainly owned classic or “oddball”

For Sale this 2012 BMW M Sport 116 Manual in Black Sapphire Metallic
I purchased this car in January of 2021 and it has
been the most trouble free and reliable car I have ever owned. I mean this
might have something to do with the fact that I have mainly owned classic or “oddball”
cars over the years, but it’s the first thing that I think of when I think of
this car. The only reason I am selling it (as I will be doing with a motorcycle,
and road bike in the coming weeks for anyone who fancies a bulk buy) is that I
am moving to Sweden with my family next month, otherwise I would be keeping it
for the foreseeable future.
Unlike when I have sold my classic cars in the past
there is not much to waffle on about with a 1 series. It looks gorgeous, such
beautiful lines and looks fast even when it’s sat still. The M sport body kit
is what does it, and in black is just the best colour in my opinion. It is also
pretty rapid for a 1.6 when you put her in Sport mode; the suspension tightens
up and the accelerator is far more responsive to your foot, really a very fun
drive indeed. Paintwork is in excellent condition all over, as you can hopefully
see in the photos (sorry taken on a bit of a sunny day, and a lot of reflections of surrounding area so rest assured that there are no bush shaped scuffs or white marks on bumpers or paintwork), with only a few very
minor blemishes (as you might expect for a 2012 car) but none that will likely
shoe up in the photos, and none that take away at all from the overall appearance
(you really have to look close to find them). Engine is sound, I mean it’s a
BMW that has been lovingly maintained, with only 2 owners, and 50,000 miles on
the clock, you’d expect nothing less. Interior is also in fantastic condition,
no rips, tears or scratches to the leather seats, anthracite head lining, or
damage to the interior panelling. Even the boot area and parcel shelf are
without damage, a very clean example throughout.
The original owner obviously wanted M135i looks
without the accompanying insurance costs, as they have gone to town with the M
sport extras (including pricey spec alloys, Shadow Line trim and the anthracite
roof lining), but all that I have done in my 3.5 years of ownership is upgrade
the braking system and tires, besides that I just had any work done that my
garage highlights come MOT time. I did pick up a set of M sport wing mirror
covers and some sequential indicators, which I never got around to fitting, but
shall include with the car, as they are no use to me on their own.
I have the original brochures, order form, owner’s
manual, wallet etc. along with all MOT certificates and a healthy pile of receipts
(not so important with modern cars I know, but being a classics man it’s the
first thing I look for). I also have two keys and a BIMMERCODE Bluetooth diagnostics
device that will be included.
The car has been on a private plate since I owned
it, but I have brand new plates to switch over on sale to LS12 JUT. This takes 2
minutes online, and I have the V5 documents for both registration numbers so
will make no difference to her new owner. I didn’t want to do it before selling
as I wasn’t sure if the MOT history would transfer instantly, and didn’t want to
give any potential buyer cause for concern when doing their due diligence.
I do tend to waffle a bit, especially where cars
are involved, so for those who prefer a more bullet point approach, the facts without
the thoughts;

Happy to take any further photographs on request,
and you are welcome to arrange viewing in South East London, I work form home
so can be pretty flexible with timing. She’s sold as a 99p starter with no
reserve and so will go to whomever is lucky enough to win her but am of course
open to sensible offers should you wish to get in touch. If your account does
not have history (6 months+) or has a negative feedback score (less than 95%)
please get in touch before bidding, otherwise I retain the right to remove and
block bids, once bitten twice shy sorry. 100% feedback rating with over 20 years selling on so you can bid with confidence. I have sold a number of my own cars on here over that time with similarly detailed listings and photos, and always had very satisfied buyers, as you can see from my feedback comments. So grab a bargain and drive away in to
the sunshine (unlikely in the UK I know) this sexy little, ULEZ complaint, low millage, 1
series.
Happy bidding!
On 17-Jun-24 at 13:30:32 BST, seller added the following information:Just to note, having had a few enquiries on the matter the car is definitely a petrol not diesel car. I had forgotten that I too stumbled across this myself when buying the car, that the online DVLA vehicle MOT history checker lists the car as fuel type: diesel, but both the V5 log book and the DVLA online vehicle information (to check MOT and tax status of a vehicle) list is as petrol. It has never caused me any problems as obviously the car is petrol ,runs on petrol, and is recognised as petrol for both insurance and the GOV ULEZ compliance check. I have this morning gotten in touch with the DVLA, who passed me on the the DVSA (as DVLA had correct details) and they have updated their system to save the new owner having any concern on the matter. Turns out that at some point in the past an MOT inspector incorrectly noted it as diesel and it had stuck on their system ever since.
