This BMW is in very good mechanical condition. It starts first time and runs really well steering and braking as it should. It has had the headlights upgraded to ‘angel eyes’ and has a very good, and fully working Clifford alarm fitted, but otherwise is as it left the factory.
There is no rust, and it has good wheels and tyres. It is ready to get in and drive.
In the last couple of years it has hadNew brake fluidNew coolantNew alternatorNew battery New water pumpNew thermostatNew auxiliary drive belt New oilNew oil filterNew fuel filterNew air filterNew spark plugsNew bonnet strutsReplacement CD/radio (JVC )A new mohair hood in the correct green.New main drive gear for roof motor.New jacking point padsNew radiator bleed screwVarious new bulbs as required.VHT paint to exhaust system to prevent rust (it is in excellent condition).A replacement gearbox, including new transmission fluid, filter and sump gasket.A new rear crank oil seal and seal carrier gasketNew good quality fleece lined car cover. So as you can see it is a very well looked after car.
It has been great fun for sunny days and shows. In fact we just did a 250 mile round trip to the Cotswolds last month.
There are, of course, a few age related chips scrapes and dents to the bodywork/paint. Nothing serious, so I choose to polish it and use as is (it gets lots of looks on the road and at shows) but a more discerning owner might want to attend to them. The interior is in good condition, in that there are no rips/tears etc, but the seats look like they have been coloured in the past and could do with it being done again. Of course the door cards are delaminating a bit, the drivers door being the worse of the two but I’ve never seen a 90’s BMW this didn’t happen to! Overall it is both useable and presentable though.
So all in all a really good car, ready to get in and enjoy, but with a couple of little jobs you to do to make it that bit better if you wanted to.
I’m selling purely due to lack of space to keep it (I currently have 6 cars which is at least 3 too many for the space I have).
Any inspection welcome.
